Pamoja Kenya

Pamoja Kenya is an initiative of the Sport, Management and Entrepreneurship programme, the Academy of Physical Education and the Nutrition program at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. This project works with a local organization in Kenya called A-Step (Seeds of Peace Africa). This umbrella organization ensures that knowledge is spread across various development organizations worldwide. Through sport, A-Step wishes to reduce the (increased) tensions between tribes as well as promote fraternization.

While working with a group of ten enthusiastic students over a period of two years under the supervision of several teachers who have all had extensive experience in sport and development cooperation, we collected enough funds to build a talent house and provide sport equipment to local children. It is a project offered by the HVA that continues every year with new students!
